1989/90 Barnet were to go head to head until the very last game with
Brian Little’s relegated Darlington in another thrilling season
full of excitement, goals, incident and heartache.
Over 20 years of writing about my club in Barnet matchday programmes, which sold to about 500 souls on a good day, now with this Blog Site everyone can read my ramblings, memories, interviews, experiences, features, guides to away grounds and pure love of everything Barnet Football Club. SEASON 1988-89 A SEASON OF CONSOLIDATION
The club had finished runners-up in the first two GM Conference seasons and Barnet supporters were still dreaming of some Silverware in the boardroom.
SEASON 1987-88 BRIDESMAIDS AGAIN
Finishing second to Scarborough in the Conference in 1986/87, while experiencing the most entertaining football
to be played at Underhill for some 15 years, had given us supporters a new hope for the future.
SEASON 1986-87 START BELIEVING
After
the best part of 10 years without trophies and just the odd taster of
excitement for us long suffering fans, Stanley Flashman and Barry Fry
met up to start their Revolution!

RECKLESS RAMBLINGS - THE DAY OF THE LIMO
I
have travelled to away games by plane, train, tube, car,
bus (open top and public), coach, motorcycle and ferry to watch my
club but the invitation of an away game by stretched limousine in the
lap of luxury was just too good to refuse.
FA CUP RUN 2006-07
The
FA Cup is not a competition frankly that Barnet have excelled in over
the years and we have only reached the Fourth Round on two
occasions.
I
am going to take you back to 2006/7 when we first reached the dizzy
heights of Round 4.
SEASON 2004-5 RETURNING TO THE LEAGUE
In
2005-5 League Football returned to Underhill with Barnet playing some
of the most exhilarating football since the days of Barry Fry - this
time however it was overseen with superb efficiency and organisation
skills.
UNDERHILL
So
far I have featured numerous heroes of Underhill but now I'll feature Underhill herself? The Theatre of Teams – Barnet Football Club teams.
DENNIS SIGNY
Not
only players become legends at a football club – this gentleman was
too in my humble opinion. He had an incredible life and our club
would have benefited even more had he been part of it for longer.
LOOK BACK IN AMBER - THE WEST BANK
I
have Celebrated, Laughed, Cheered, Cried, Swore, Fought, Hugged,
Kissed, Ate, Drank and even Slept there. Do I miss it? You bet........the West Bank
Underhill.
